Hanko Theatre Festival is the largest Swedish speaking theatre festival in Finland. The event, which takes place at the beginning of June, gathers audiences and theatre professionals in Hanko to see the best – mobile – performances of the year. The festival programme also includes discussions, planning and development of the Finnish-Swedish performing arts.
Open for all friends of theatre!
The theatre festival is open for all theatre enthusiasts and also forms a meeting point for amateur groups and institutional theatres, for theatre students and established actors, for critics and audiences.
During Hanko Theatre Festival the audience can discover theatre in new ways and places. Theatres are hosted in warehouses, halls and harbours, under trees, in boats and in restaurants. During the festival, which lasts for four days, the audience can choose between 30-50 performances, covering several different genres.
